EXPERIENCE THE MAGIC OF CHRISTMAS
Christmas Characters
Santa
Santa Adam has performed at Second City for a 2023 Christmas in July promotion through Live Arts International as well as the Santa for the Magnificent Mile Festival of Lights parade in Chicago. He has appeared in commercials for brands such as Harry & David as well as shot a holiday video for Rust-Oleum.
Who knows more about toys and the benefits of play than an Executive Director of a Children's Museum, which is what Santa Adam does for his full-time job. It's kind of like being Santa all year long, bringing joy to children and families.
Santa Adam is a member in good standing of the International Brotherhood of Real Bearded Santas.
Mrs. Claus
Mrs. Krista Claus is the parent of a special needs adult son and understands the complexities and challenges of working with these wonderful children.
A guest teacher for nearly two decades, she has worked with a variety of children at various age levels with a focus on the younger grades. She loves reading and promotes literacy in the classroom. She has also been a Girl Scout leader and a storyteller for the KidsWork Children's Museum.
She is also quite the baker and is planning on her home visits including decorating cookies and reading a story to the children. Imagine the memories your children will have remembering the time Mrs. Claus visited and they decorated cookies together!
Elfie
Elfie, aka Kate McDermott, is very excited to add to the festive, holiday cheer for all! Kate’s background includes a bachelors degree in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois, experience as a classroom teacher, outdoor adventure camp counselor and in recent years has redefined herself in other ways.
Kate is currently serving as the President on the Oak Lawn Public Library Board as well as the Vice President of the Illinois Developmental Therapy Association. She fills her weeks working as an in-home Developmental Therapist for children and families in the Early Intervention Program. She can also be found at the Children’s Museum in Oak Lawn every Wednesday at the Wee Ones program talking to parents and caregivers about child development.
Having fun and learning through play has been a constant in her life and also happens to be quite a perk when becoming Elfie!!
Sparkle
Sparkle, aka Jules Metzler, has been nicknamed the "Disney of people" by her coworkers since she's the happiest person on earth, and is delighted to bring that joy and holiday spirit to everyone she meets! Jules has worked with kids of all ages as a Vision Therapist, and is well-versed in understanding non-verbal communication. She holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Saint Xavier University, and has nine years of clinical therapy experience.
Beyond that, Jules fills her down time with every aspect of acting, as breaking into film and tv is her ultimate goal! She not only has completed The Second City's improv program, been in numerous community theater shows in the Chicagoland area, including a 24 hour play fest, but also has served as the fight choreographer for Treasure Island and directed a one-act show.
All her improv experience is a huge plus when working with kids, because being silly and open to suggestions makes both work and play so much more fun!
